Submission guidelines

The description field has one job: say what work was done. Think of a line on an invoice.

Good

  • Unblocked kitchen drain, 45 minutes, no parts. Weekend call-out.
  • Replaced 80 L electric water heater, unit included, 2 hours. Written quote given.
  • Annual service on gas boiler. No price list shown.
  • Two front brake discs and pads, Renault Clio 2015, parts and labour.
  • Dental cleaning, one visit, 40 minutes.

Not accepted

  • Opinions, in either direction: "overcharged", "rip-off", "great value", "rude", "very professional".
  • Accusations or anything implying dishonesty, incompetence or illegality.
  • Names of people, including first names and roles like "the owner's son".
  • Stories: what was said, what happened next, how you felt.
  • Phone numbers, email addresses, links.

Facts about the transaction are fine

"No written quote", "paid cash", "no invoice offered", "price list not shown" are facts and are welcome. They let readers see patterns without anyone having to pass judgment.

Which price

The total you paid for that job, including tax and any call-out fee, in the currency you paid in. If you paid for several jobs on one invoice, pick the main one and say so briefly, or add them as separate entries only if they were separate visits.

One per person per business

You can add one price for each business. If you used the same business twice, add the most recent one. This stops anyone from flooding a page, including business owners reporting on themselves.

Businesses

If you run a listed business, you can reply to, correct or dispute any entry through the report form. Factual replies are shown next to the entries. Entries that break these guidelines are removed.
