How this is funded
What We Paid is run as a non-profit project. It carries no advertising, sells no data, and takes no money from any business that appears on it. There is no paid tier for businesses and never will be: the moment a listed business could pay us, the record would stop being trusted.
The costs are a small server, a domain, email delivery and the automated text check on each submission. Together they come to a few tens of euros a month. Donations cover them.
Donations are not open yet. When they are, every donation and every expense will be public on an Open Collective page, so anyone can see where the money comes from and where it goes.
